Prayer
A key indicator of the spirituality of nations and individuals is the passion with which they pray. Review the nation of Israel in the book of Chronicles to see the ebb and flow of the nations prayer life. Over the four weeks of July, Dix Hills Free Church will read through the prayers of Chronicles and see the kind of praises and petitions that are honoring to the Lord.
July 4 – Crying out for Blessing 1 Chronicles 4:9-10
July 11- Crying out for Justice 1 Chronicles 17
July 18- Crying out for Wisdom 2 Chronicles 1
July 25- Crying out for Forgiveness 2 Chronicles 6

We’re Not In Kansas Anymore
American Christians have had it fairly easy concerning the intersection of Christ and Culture compared to non-western peoples. But as our society becomes less Christian, and we encounter more people from non-western countries, the common foundations of the Judeo-Christian heritage are lost. This series through May and June will challenge us to think Christianly about our cultural traditions and consider how best to be a 21st century believer in the USA. Hopefully you will walk away offended at least one week out of the series (since most people who listened to Jesus are) as Jesus seeks to conform our thinking to His own.

rev·o·lu·tion:
ˌre-və-ˈlü-shən noun
1: the rotation of a celestial body on its axis
2 a : a sudden, radical, or complete change b : a fundamental change in the way of thinking about or visualizing something; a change of paradigm.
For each revolution of the earth on it’s axis…a day, we are asking God to use His word to accomplish a revolution in our lives, replacing self-rule with the rule of God, radically changing the way we think. We believe that daily interaction with others who are reading the same passages will create a greater work of God in each of us.
